DISASTER RECOVERY PROGRAM UPDATES:

HURRICANE IKE: We are participating in State VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) conference calls and keeping our partners informed. We have started the process of placing VISTA members in the affected areas for long-term recovery.

During the approach and arrival of Hurricane Gustav we monitored daily State Conference Calls and provided communication and some coordination of services through our role with Central Texas VOAD.

HURRICANE DOLLY: Our Disaster Recovery Program will be responding to Hurricane Dolly by providing a VISTA Member to Faith Communities for Disaster Recovery (FCDR) for at least oneyear.
